ANNUAL SCHOOL REPORT 2019-20
“All kids need is a little help, a little hope and somebody who believes in them”
Good evening venerated Guests, acclaimed and benevolent members of the Management, absolutely brilliant parents and every one present. I take a proud privilege to welcome you all to ANUBHUTI – 2019-The Children’s festival of performing art.
The magic, the wonder, the mystery and the innocence of a child’s heart are the seeds of creativity that will heal the world. Welcome to the magical world of Saksham. A school with a philosophy to make the students believe in themselves- because magic is believing yourself.
There is a champion within all of us. The giant tree in the seed you cannot see, but it is there. It is we, the school, who nurture, nourish those seeds to grow. Here we provide them regular platform for their mental, physical, emotional, aesthetic, and psychological growth. In fact it’s the real approach to the Holistic development as Saksham says, “ inquire, inspire and innovate.”
Here I am to take down the memory lanes and give you the glimpses of the year 2019.
The year started with a big bang and brought a lot of happiness. We bagged a coveted trophy on all India level as the champion Actizen school among the top 20 schools of India for building civic awareness. Also we were recognized by the Rotary Club of Gandhi city for the work done by the Interact Club .The teachers flung opened their arms to welcome the students.
Let’s have a look in details:

B) Students and Stakeholders
1. ACADEMICS:
Winners are not different, they do things differently. Yes the difference of pedagogy can transform a caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly. I would like to stress on different methodologies of pedagogy we used this year. Apart from time tested methods we used some unique ones. The school joined hands with one of the new concepts in language learning and expression “ Karadi Path” for stronger language development. Ms Deesh Choudhary ,Ms Vanshiqa and Ms Priyanka Satija ensure that the children speak with proper accent, speech, vocabulary and diction. Methods are again based on the Multiple Intelligence theory, group learning, and emotional learning. Depictions, Debates, Skits, oratory events; Creative Sketching for the understanding of the concepts, use of the technology such as internet, power point presentations, use of math and science labs, quizzing had been part of regular teaching .
The experiential learning in form of field trips to the Aanji Primary Health centre, Magan Sangrahalaya, The Duttapur complex, Post office, Bapu kuti and the vegetable market made the learning more concrete.
Interactive sessions with the experts like Dr. Vishaka Rao and Ms. Shaily Kalantri helped the little ones understand the concept of Good touch Bad touch. The growing Sakshamites interacted with Mr. Sachin and his team from Lions club who helped the young aspirants to understand the pros and cons of Mobile use under the Adolescence Education Programme.
Mr. Palash Bhusari and his team from Nagpur opened a new arena of thoughts to the students when he interacted with the young sakshamites on the changing faces of technology and demo on Drones. I sincerely thank each one from core of my heart as they made a difference to us.
At the onset of the year, a week full of orientation programme was conducted for the parents. A special orientation was conducted for the parents of grade 7 making them aware about the current paper patterns.
We make learning fun and time again, the wonderful team of kindergarten has proved it efficiently with their involvement in arranging the various concepts be it, colour and shapes days, or special learning like Rainy Day or class room hands on learning

2. Physical, Mental, Emotional and Personality Development, inculcating National Pride and awareness about cultural legacy:
The very basics of developments are inculcated from play school itself. Whenever we bridge a concept with the areas of the student’s prominence, the breakthrough is easy and effective. competitions, quizzes proved to be helpful.
Competitions like recitation , ,colouring ,speech, lantern making, rakhi making , diya decoration and quizzing helped the little Sakshamites develop the understanding, confidence, creative skills, reasoning and critical thinking.
“The destiny of a nation is built in Schools.” Keeping these golden words in mind, Pre Independence Day, Independence Day, Gandhi jayanati, Shastri Jayanti were celebrated with patriotic fervor.
Developing love and respect towards the languages and exhibiting it is essential. Hindi Diwas and Sanskrit Day spoke a volume about it. We paid tribute to the Wizzard of hockey on National Sports Day.
To inculcate the good citizenship quality, it is important to respect the Democracy and the Constitution. The students daily recite the Preamble grade 1 onwards while the students of Nursery too are well versed with the Pledge. The Constitution Day was organized in a sober yet stronger way.
one who preserves the culture preserves the the very existence. Keeping the same abreast we brought the students closer to Incredible India by involving them in Rakhi celebrations, , Janmashtami celebrations ,Diwali celebration and the Bhatukli etc.
In order to encourage love for reading, this year onward the school involved the students from grade1 in Home reading programme under which the students are issued the books from library every week so that they read at home. We are having a spacious library with more than 1500 books plus a huge number of donated books. Reading Inspiration Day has successfully inspired many Avid Readers of the school.
Keeping the motto: Be Local, go Global, we always ensure to inculcate the concept of Vasudhaivakutumbakam in our students This year, we organized a Haloween Day celebration. It is note worthy that last session we had World Fiesta.
We ensure the students realize the worth of people serving nation and the sacrifice made by them. This year too the Actizens and the Interact council sent the rakhis to the jawans on the border with the support of the leading news paper Sakal and we are thankful to them.
3. Environment and Community learning:
We ensure that we try to develop a responsible attitude towards the environment. Students participated in Environment Week, plantations on special occasions, Vanamohatsav and expressed their concern by creating wonderful posters too. The little feet definitely exhibited their affection and participated in sowing seeds of various vegetables and shrubs. The school started with an innovative idea of gifting a sapling to the birthday students so that they could nourish and nurture them.

4. Moral Development:
The students are given moral education, along with activity based education. We conducted Teachers day and Childrens’ day with a difference.
The litttle ones spent their time out in tents and enjoyed the old age traditional playthings. Every day school assembly is on based morals and themes etc.
The hands that rock the cradle rule the world. The little ones spent time exclusively with their mothers on a Mothers’ Day out and made them feel like the queens of their lives by singing, dancing and even applying make ups to the mothers. Nothing could be compared to the tears of joy and fulfillment in the eyes of those happy mothers.
On Diwali celebrations the students reached out to the destitute and offered sweets and handmade and decorated diyas.
5. Social Development, Development of leadership qualities and Civic Development:
Man is a social animal. He has accountability towards his family, society, nation and humanity. We inculcated these aspects in our children in small yet effective ways. The unbiased election procedure was followed by the Installation of The Deshapanyen Actizen Club and The Rotary Interact club to introduced the taste of democracy among the students .They participated the in the online opinion poll conducted Pan India making their opinions about the grave issues India is facing currently and understood the importance of the media. The students also visited the distinguished Dean of MGIMS Dr. Gagne and the PI of the Sevagram police station wishing Diwali with the handmade and decorated Diyas. These little Samaritans also ensured that they appealed to buy the handmade lamps of Indian artisans supporting them and banning the firework industries who support the child labour.

6. Health and wellness:
The school has always laid great emphasis on health and hygiene. We conducted the vaccination of DPT under the ageis of the health department. Our in house counselor Ms. Borade ensures that she strengthens the mental health of our students during her regular counseling sessions. The students of kindergarten are well exposed to the techniques of keeping health and hygiene. The puppets show and the various videos on health and hygiene on hand wash day were very educative.

8.Accolades:
There is no shortcut to success and substitute to hardwork. The fruits are juicy.
The Sakshmites made us proud this year with the following accolades:
-
7 Students appeared for Tabla exam held by Gandharva Sangeet Vidyalaya and came out in flying colours under the able guidance of Mr. Avinash Kolhe
-
Ms Vaidehi , Ms Bhoomi and Mast Shuhan bagged first position in DSO competition in Kick Boxing held in the month of September on District level and made us proud.
-

-
Mast Kushal Singal bagged a consolation prize at the city level in competition of colouring.
-
Mast Jai Dantusliya participated in the first ever held story telling competition by CBSE. Results of Olympiad are awaited.
The year culminated and the efforts of the TEAM SAKSHAM were realized when the final observation of CBSE team took place. We are proud to announce that we received the middle school affiliation.
However all this would never have been possible without the tireless efforts of our charismatic Director, Ms Pranitaji Kathane. Her innovative and progressive ideas have made the school grow in leaps and bounds over the past two years. The Pillar of support our very intellectual yet modest Secretary Mr. Rohanji kathane stood for us at the times of test. The blessings of our Chairman Sir and Vice Presidents always kept us warm and going. I will fail in my duties if I do not thank my staff and colleagues , parents, students and well-wishers, who made this academic year a memorable one!
A special mention of the very efficient Admin Mr Nilesh Fulgaonkar and Coordinator Ms Smita Hedao. How can I forget the support of the computer and the IT and the Library department?
It would be really unfair of me if I do not mention my support staff.
Today we are the final frontiers. The winds of grace blow all the time. Well, it’s time to set our sails and begin the journey. What we believe, strongly imagine, ardently desire, enthusiastically act upon and will inevitably come true. Our whole life revolves round the myth that something will happen. If it does not happen, we are empowered to make it happen. Everything at the end is fine. If not, it’s not the end. That is the skill, patience and ordinance we have. I on the behalf of entire Saksham team wish you all a very prosperous and solacing new year 2020. Thank you
